5 Ways to Track Any Parcel in India — and Which One to Use When

All-in-one tracker, courier site, shop app, SMS link or a call — which way to track works best, and when.

By CheckMyOrder Editorial TeamPublished Last reviewed 4 min read

Quick answer The fastest way: paste the tracking number (AWB) into an all-in-one tracker like CheckMyOrder — it detects the courier and shows the status, no app needed. Other ways: the courier's own website/app, the shop's order page (works with just your order, no number needed), the tracking link in your SMS/email, or calling the courier with the AWB. Use the shop's app when you don't have the tracking number; use the courier's site when you need extra options like rescheduling.

हिंदी में: ट्रैकिंग नंबर CheckMyOrder पर पेस्ट करें — कूरियर अपने आप पहचान लिया जाता है। नंबर नहीं है तो दुकान के ऐप में "My Orders" से ट्रैक करें।

5 ways to track a parcel in India compared: all-in-one tracker, courier site, shop app, SMS link, phone

The 5 ways, compared

Way What you need Best for Limits
1. All-in-one tracker (CheckMyOrder) Tracking number Any courier, without knowing which one; several parcels at once Some couriers only show status on their own site — we link you there
2. Courier website / app Tracking number Rescheduling, changing address, delivery instructions You must know the courier; every courier has a different site
3. Shop's app (My Orders) Your order Online orders when you don't have the AWB Status may lag the courier by hours
4. SMS / email link The message Quick check Fake links are common — only open messages you expect
5. Phone / customer care AWB + booking details Stuck, lost or damaged parcels Slow; use for problems, not status

1. All-in-one tracker — fastest for most people

Paste the number into CheckMyOrder. We recognise the courier from the number's format (for example EE123456789IN is India Post, FMPC… is usually Ekart) and show the latest scans, in English or Hindi. Got several parcels — family orders, a festive sale haul, or a seller's daily dispatch? Use multi-tracking.

Not sure which courier it is? Track a parcel without knowing the courier.

2. The courier's own website or app

Best when you need to do something — reschedule, change address, give a delivery instruction or download proof of delivery. Find each courier's official tracker from its page: Delhivery, Blue Dart, DTDC, India Post, Ekart and more.

3. The shop's app — when you don't have the number

Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra and others show tracking under My Orders. Your order ID is not a tracking number — but the order page shows the courier and AWB. How: track my order by order ID. Shop guides: Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho.

Genuine order messages contain links, but so do scams ("parcel on hold, pay ₹25"). Rule: only open links in messages about an order you placed, and never pay or enter an OTP through one. If in doubt, copy the tracking number and check it yourself, or test the message on our SMS scam checker.

5. Calling the courier

Use it for problems: a parcel stuck in transit, marked delivered but not received, or lost or damaged. Keep the AWB, booking date and receipt ready, and note the complaint number.

Tracking by mobile number?

Some couriers let you search by the phone number on the booking, but it's limited. Here's what works: track a parcel by mobile number.

Parcel track karne ke 5 tareeke (Hinglish)

  2. Courier ki website/app — reschedule ya address badalne ke liye.
  3. Shop ka app → My Orders — jab tracking number na ho.
  4. SMS link — sirf apne order ka; paise ya OTP kabhi nahi.
  5. Courier ko call — parcel atka ho ya kho gaya ho.

FAQ

What is the easiest way to track a parcel in India?

Paste the tracking number into an all-in-one tracker like CheckMyOrder — it detects the courier automatically.

Can I track with my order ID?

Only in the shop's app or website. Courier trackers need the tracking number (AWB), which is shown on the order page.

Why does the courier site show a newer update than the shop app?

Shops pull updates from couriers every few hours. The courier's own data (which CheckMyOrder reads) is usually newer.
